Miami Pace linebacker Robert Jones committed to Northern Illinois Monday, as the 6-foot, 210-pound, athlete wasted no time accepting their offer.
Jones received the offer from Northern Illinois last Friday, and decided to accept it rather than wait on more offers.
"This was a great opportunity for me because Northern Illinois has a great engineering program, and I'm very interested in that field," Jones said of his choice. "I also have the opportunity to play early. The coaches love me, and they have created a family environment, where I can feel at home while away from home."
"There are seven or eight other players from Florida on the team," he added. "Jamaal Bass is from Miramar, which is my area, and he also plays linebacker. I'm looking forward to this opportunity."
