Edwards Adds First Offer

Edwards Adds First Offer

It was only a matter of time before Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods defensive back Mike Edwards picked up his first scholarship offer.

The past week has been good to 2014 defensive back Mike Edwards as he visited Illinois for a Junior Day and picked up his first scholarship offer.

"I visited Illinois this past weekend and really liked it," said Edwards. "Coach (Alex) Golesh has been coming to our school since my sophomore year and I feel I'm building a good relationship with them.

"They really wanted me to attend their Junior Day and I liked what I saw and had a chance to sit down with Coach (Steve) Clinkscale who coaches the defensive backs."

While Edwards is hopeful he'll soon receiver an offer from the Illinois, another program was the first to give him the first of many scholarship offers.

"Kent State just offered me," said Edwards. "Indiana also stopped in school on Monday and said I should be getting an offer from them soon when I go to their Junior Day in about a week."

Other schools that have stopped by to check out Edwards include Penn State, Ohio State and Miami Ohio.
