DT Hollis Thomas: Eagles Bring in FA DT For Visit

Hollis Thomas Profile

Looking for defensive line help, the Philadelphia Eagles recently brought free agent DT Hollis Thomas in for a visit and a physical, a league source told Scout.com. Thomas was released by the New Orleans Saints in late April. Gcobb.com first reported that Thomas took a physical for the Eagles.

The mammoth interior lineman was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Eagles in 1996 and played the first 10 seasons of his career for the club.

Philadelphia was said to be looking for defensive tackle depth after Amon Gordon was waived/injured after suffering a torn Achilles tendon. Thomas was not offered a contract and weighed in significantly more than his listed playing weight of 335 pounds.

In related news, a source said former University of Kentucky DE Jeremy Jarmon was brought in for a visit recently by the Eagles before this week's supplemental draft. Jarmon was ultimately selected by the Washington Redskins in the third round.
